Mohyeddin Assali obtained his B.sc. degree in Pharmacy in 2006 with first-class honors at An-Najah National University-Palestine. He received his master's degree in advanced
studies of chemistry in the organic and pharmaceutical department at Seville
University/Spain. After that, he was awarded a scholarship from AECID/Spain
to complete his Ph.D. degree in medicinal chemistry and nanomedicine at
CICCARTUJA/CSIC-Seville University-Spain. In 2013, he returned to An-Najah National University to continue his work. In 2025, he was promoted to Full Professor in medicinal chemistry and nanomedicine. His research focuses on the synthesis of self-assembled nanomaterials and the functionalization of carbon nanomaterials (carbon nanotubes, graphene, and carbon nanodots) for biomedical applications which include cancer therapy, infectious diseases, and tissue engineering.
