Muath Asmar, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of financial technology at the Faculty of Business & Communication, An-Najah National University. He has worked at different managerial and consultant positions in the private sector. He is a certified expert and arbitrator in IT and e-commerce by the Palestinian Ministry of Justice. He earned his bachelor's degree in banking and finance in An-Najah National University. He has a master's degree in information technology and a Ph.D. in financial markets microstructure from Universiti Sains Malaysia. He also did a post doctorate in financial innovation, including exchange-traded funds and fintech, at the School of Economics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. His main research interests are in market microstructure, fintech, trading technology, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, and e-commerce. Throughout his academic career, he has taught several courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Portfolio Theory, Financial Markets, Scientific Research Methodology and its Statistical Tools, Corporate Finance, and other finance- and IT-related courses. He has published several papers in international refereed journals and attended several conferences around the world.
