I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Jordan in 2001, specializing in Medieval Islamic Arabic Literature. Over the past 29 years, I have worked extensively in teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (TAFL). I have authored numerous books and research papers focusing on Medieval Arabic Literature, Andalusian Literature, Classical Arabic Criticism, Islamic History, Artificial Intelligence and its role in Arabic linguistic sciences, as well as theoretical and applied aspects of TAFL.

I am the founder of the Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers at An-Najah National University, where I served as Director for 13 years. I designed the minor academic track in TAFL at An-Najah University and co-developed both the Master’s degree program in TAFL and the Ph.D. program in Arabic Language and Literature within the department. Furthermore, I am a co-founder of the International Arabic Proficiency Exam for Non-Native Speakers, administered by An-Najah National University in Greece and officially recognized by the Greek Parliament. I have served as Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature on multiple occasions and participated in numerous local, regional, and international conferences across these fields.

Throughout my career, I have taught at several Arab universities, including the University of Jordan, Philadelphia University, Irbid National University, Petra University, and Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University (College of Education, Al-Quway'iyah). Since 2007, I have been a faculty member at An-Najah National University.

I am an elected administrative board member of the International Council for the Arabic Language and an advisory board member at the Center for Palestine Studies (University of Cambridge / London). I have supervised and served as an examiner for numerous Master’s theses and Ph.D. dissertations, and I have designed and conducted extensive foundational and professional training courses in the field of Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers.
