Biography

Dr. Abdelhaleem I. Khader is an Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering at An-Najah National University (ANNU), where he also serves as the Assistant Dean of Scientific Research and Global Rankings. With a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah State University, his academic and professional journey reflects a rich blend of research excellence, educational leadership, and international collaboration.

His research focuses on air quality, groundwater and surface water modeling, solid waste management, statistical learning, and the design of environmental monitoring networks. He has contributed to over a dozen peer-reviewed publications and numerous international conferences, with work spanning advanced modeling techniques and practical environmental assessments in Palestine and abroad.

Dr. Khader has held several administrative roles, including Head of the Civil and Architectural Engineering Department and Director of the ABET Center. His leadership has supported academic accreditation efforts and enhanced curriculum development. He has coordinated and participated in multiple international projects funded by Erasmus+, DFG, and other agencies, addressing green buildings, career readiness, and sustainable water management.

Internationally, Dr. Khader has been a visiting scholar at Utah State University and McMaster University, conducting research on air pollution and groundwater recharge, and mentoring students in hands-on engineering initiatives.

He is a recipient of prestigious awards, including multiple Excellence in Research Awards from ANNU, a Fulbright Fellowship, and the Rodman A. Rockefeller Fellowship. As a dedicated educator, researcher, and consultant, Dr. Khader continues to advance sustainability, scientific inquiry, and regional development through applied research and academic leadership.
