Faisal Saleh is an instructor at the Department of Public Relations and Communication at An-Najah National University. Faisal has a Bachelor degree in Journalism from An-Najah National University. He has worked as a translator for the HOPING Foundation, and as a PR coordinator for the Yafa Cultural Center (YCC) in the Balata Refugee Camp, and as a freelance journalist. In 2011, Faisal participated in the CrossCulture Internship Programme, funded by the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa) in Germany, where he was an intern at cultural and social organizations in Leipzig. In 2012, he participated in the Cultural Journalism Training Program in Germany for Journalists from the Arab Region, which was implemented by Goethe-Institute. Faisal attended an intensive training about cultural journalism in Berlin. After that, he was an intern at regional newspapers in Germany. In 2013, Faisal was awarded a Master’s Fellowship from the Open Society Foundations (OSF). He graduated from the Ohio University with a Master’s degree in Communication and Development Studies. Faisal’s areas of research interests include qualitative research methods, critical and cultural theory, communication for social change, media representations and postcolonial studies, borders, migration and cultural memory, intercultural communication, and international mass media.
