Mohammed Jaber

Dr. Mohammed Jaber is a Palestinian artist, art historian, and academic with over two decades of experience in higher education. He holds a Ph.D. in Art History from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in Belgium, where he graduated with great distinction under a full European scholarship. He also holds a Master of Fine from the Winchester School of Art – University of Southampton (UK), supported by a Ford Foundation grant, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from An-Najah National University in Palestine.
His academic training includes additional studies in interior design, mosaic, and stained glass at École Boulle in Paris through a French government scholarship, as well as courses at the National School of Design (ENSCL-Les Ateliers) and academic writing programs at the University of Birmingham.
Since 1998, Dr. Jaber has been a faculty member at An-Najah National University, where he teaches interior design, sculpture, stained glass, and art history. His research focuses on visual culture, heritage, and identity in contemporary Palestinian and Arab art. He has supervised numerous undergraduate and graduate theses and contributed extensively to curriculum and program development.
He served as Dean of the School of Fine Arts and Head of the Department of Applied Arts, where he played a leading role in establishing new academic tracks in Interior Design, Graphic Design, and Game Design.
Dr. Jaber maintains active academic ties with institutions across Europe. He has participated in multiple Erasmus+ teaching exchanges and led numerous international academic cooperation initiatives. He is fluent in Arabic, English, and French, and has represented An-Najah in various international conferences, exhibitions, and cultural forums.
His artistic practice engages themes of homeland, memory, exile, and identity, and his work has been exhibited widely in Palestine, the United Kingdom, France, and Belgium.
