Allam Mousa is a professor at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and the Director of the Virtual Reality Center at An-Najah National University, Palestine.
Since 1996, Prof. Mousa has served in many high-ranking and decision-making positions, like the chairman of the Electronics Engineering Department at Al-Quds University (1999), the chairman of the Electrical Engineering Department at ANU (2002-2009), and the Deputy President for Planning, Development, and Quality (2009-2014). Mr. Mousa was appointed the minister of Telecom & IT (2014-2019), and the minister of Transport (2014-2015). In 2020, he was appointed Vice President for Academic Affairs, and in 2021, he was appointed Director of the Virtual Reality Center at ANU. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence.
During his career path, and as a team leader, Prof. Mousa has achieved many certificates of excellence and outstanding performance for his institutions. He is involved with several international activities with institutions like ITU, UNESCO, EUA, Erasmus Plus, IEEE, and EFQM. As a researcher and an academic, he was granted several scholarships as a visiting researcher for several countries like Italy, France, Belgium, and Malaysia. Moreover, he is a reviewer and steering committee member of several national and international journals and conferences. He has more than 45 published research papers in international journals and conferences in various fields like Digital Communications, Higher Education Quality Assurance, and some other fields.
Prof. Mousa is keen to integrate technology in various fields to improve the quality of life of mankind. He has several publications and funded projects in areas like using VR in Education and creating a more interactive environment for users.
Mr. Mousa received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Cyprus, in 1990, 1992, and 1996 all with first-class honors.
