Dr. Abdel-Ghani Saifi is an Assistant Professor of Science Teaching Methods/STEM Education at An-Najah National University. Dr. Saifi’s research focuses on K-12 science in STEM education. In particular, he is interested in supporting reform-based education for science teachers while understanding their beliefs about science teaching. This is particularly important as science classrooms shift toward integrated science and STEM curricula. Dr. Saifi also has a passion for kindergarten, having trained kindergarten teachers as part of the World Bank-funded Kindergarten Teacher Development Project in Palestine. He has also trained science teachers from grades 1 to 12 to understand how different changes in teaching at different grade levels—particularly toward integrated STEM curricula, also as part of a World Bank-funded project—affect their interests, attitudes, and beliefs about STEM fields. He participated in many international, regional, and local conference projects, presenting scientific papers, and served on scientific, preparatory, or administrative committees. He also served on various committees to ensure quality assurance at the university and to referee educational research at the levels of local, Arab, and foreign universities, as well as the Ministry of Education. He is the coordinator of the Master’s in Educational Administration program. He supervised many scientific theses in the Science Teaching Methods Program and the Curricula and Teaching Methods Program. He is a community activist in community institutions in Palestine. He believes in educational issues and defends them... and adopts the principle of equality in education as a right for all on the basis of good citizenship.
