The aim of this study to shed light on the most important archaeological site in the Nablus area, which indicates the presence of the archaeology of the Samaritans in the countryside of the city of Nablus during the Byzantine and Early Islamic period. The study of the site had been based until now on three different sources of information:

1. Architectural and archaeological discoveries. 2. Literary Materials. 3. Inscriptions discovered in the site that incised in stone.

Samaritan synagogue is not the only one in the region, but there are more than a Synagogue are scattered in different areas of the countryside of the city of Nablus. Therefore, the author will document the archaeological finds of the site, in particular, that the site had been stolen by looters. This is in addition to the lack of interest in Israel on-site is that it does not represent their ancient history. In addition, the site is located in an area (C), where the Oslo Agreement (in 1993) between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization divided of Palestinian lands to (a, b, c).  The Khirbet Dayr Sharaf is located in the area (c). It is that mean under Israeli military control, thus preventing the Palestinians to realize the archaeological excavations, this in addition to the inability to repair and management of the site and conduct studies and researches only with the consent of Israeli side. Therefore, the site at the present time an abandoned for the reasons mentioned above.
