The spectroscopic properties of the two electron quantum dot presented in a magnetic field are studied. We have solved the relative part Hamiltonian of the two electron quantum dot using the shifted 1/N expansion method. The transitions in the angular momentum and the spin oscillations in the ground state of the quantum dot system have been discussed. In addition, the dependence of the spin singlet-triplet energy splitting (J = ΔE) on the strength of the magnetic field has been calculated. For zero magnetic field, we have studied the effect of dimensionality on the singlet-triplet splitting in two and three dimensional quantum dots. Our results show the energy splitting curve in three dimensions is greatly enhanced. We have also displayed the value of the transition magnetic field versus the confinement energy. Based on comparisons, the shifted method give very good results against exact and variation methods.
