This research seeks to shed light on the Palestinian heritage and its importance, and to enhance the Palestinian cultural identity and employ and develop it in the elements of the interior design of the home. It also seeks to achieve authenticity and preserve heritage while keeping pace with the requirements of the modern era. The research addresses how to use the Palestinian cultural identity in interior design through innovation and appropriate employment, not just copying, by employing elements of the Palestinian cultural identity in a way that serves and enhances the function of the interior space. Therefore, the research problem is summarized in the attempt to understand the mechanisms through which Palestinian cultural identity can be effectively employed in designing interior spaces in a contemporary style, with a lack of using specific elements of Palestinian cultural identity in interior design.
Based on the effective role played by interior design in preserving cultural identity, this research aims to analyze and employ elements of Palestinian cultural identity that can be effectively used to meet the needs within the interior space. It also aims to develop a model for integrating these elements in a way that balances modern life requirements with preserving culture, this research adopts the inductive approach through theoretical research and reviewing books, scientific dissertations and previous studies related to the subject of the study, and the descriptive analytical approach through a case study of the design of the home of a Palestinian ambassador as a model.
The most important results of the research: The determinants of Palestinian cultural identity can be accepted and exist in the contemporary interior space, and can inspire and enrich it when used correctly and thoughtfully.
