Abstract:
The study aimed to identify the level of social responsibility among male and female physical education teachers of students with special educational needs in schools of Nablus Governorate. It also sought to examine social responsibility according to the following variables: gender, marital status, and years of experience. The researchers adopted the descriptive approach due to its suitability for the objectives of the study.
The study was conducted on a randomly selected sample of 420 male and female teachers of special educational needs in Nablus Governorate. The results indicated that the overall level of the personal–self responsibility domain among physical education teachers of students with special educational needs in Nablus Governorate was high, with a mean score of (4.18). The results also showed that the overall level of the civic and moral responsibility domain was very high, with a mean score of (4.47).
Furthermore, the overall level of the collective responsibility domain was very high, with a mean score of (4.25), while the overall level of the national responsibility domain was also very high, with a mean score of (4.21). The findings revealed that the overall level of social responsibility among physical education teachers of students with special educational needs in Nablus Governorate was very high, with a mean score of (4.27). The highest mean score was recorded in the domain of civic and moral responsibility, which reached a very high level with a mean of (4.47).
The results further indicated that there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α ≥ 0.05) in the overall level of social responsibility and its domains among physical education teachers of students with special educational needs in Nablus Governorate attributable to gender or marital status. However, statistically significant differences at the significance level (α ≥ 0.05) were found in the overall level of social responsibility and all its domains attributable to years of experience, in favor of teachers with more than six years of experience, except for the domain of national responsibility.
