Dr. Ehab Abu-Hannoud was born in Dubai. He had an undergraduate education in Interior Design. He earned a MSc degree in contemporary Palestinian furniture design from Helwan University (Egypt) in 2006, and a PhD Degree in Kindergarten Design from Nottingham University (UK) in 2013. He worked as a designer at Jeyad Company (Saudi Arabia) from 2002 to 2003. He worked as a lecturer in Interior Design at Al-Ahliyya Amman University (Jordan) between 2006-2008. Currently, Dr. Ehab currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Fine Arts at An-Najah National University, Nablus, Palestine. He has been a faculty member at An-Najah since 2009, where he has taught numerous courses for both Master’s and Bachelor’s programs and has supervised several theses. He held important administrative positions including the Head of department of Applied Arts (2020-2021), and the Founder and Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Program in Fashion Design, the Game Design and Food Design since 2016 until thier official lunch in 2021. He has many local and international exhibitions. Specialized in contemporary furniture and Kindergarten Designs. Jury member in Expo Dubai 2020 and the Palestinian Ministry of Culture. NGOs consultant. During his research-academic career, Dr. Ehab co-authored many publications in the fields of contemporary furniture, developing the local furniture Industry, utilizing technology & advanced material, quality of space, recycling furniture, furniture design for disaster. Dr. Ehab Abu-Hannoud was nominated in 2025 for the Nile Award for Arab Creatives, one of the most prestigious cultural awards in the Arab world, in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the field of art. He received a postdoctoral scholarship to study creative arts industries funded by the European Union, obtaining a total of 24 months of funding under the CreaTech Capacity Building Programme for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The programme includes conducting research and organizing meetings, seminars, and field workshops across six participating European universities in the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Slovenia, Kosovo, and Albania.
