Hamed Abdelhaq is an assistant professor of computer science at An-Najah National University, Palestine. He received his PhD from Heidelberg University, Heidelberg, Germany. He received his Bachelor degree from the University of Jordan in 2005 and his MSc degree in computer science from the same university in 2007. Then, he worked about 3 years as a lecturer in the Computer Science department at An-Najah National University, Palestine. In 2011, he was awarded a DAAD scholarship to complete his PhD in research areas including spatio-temporal data analysis, social media analysis, and data mining. The main focus of his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gertz is mining spatio-temporal patterns from social media towards the online identification of real-world events.
Hamed worked as a senior data analyst at moovel group GmbH that provides a wide range of mobility services. His main role in this company was to build recommendation systems that improve mobility. He worked also remotely as a part-time data mining consultant at SocialDice, USA, where his main role was to built a smart resume ranking system.
