Nasser Asmar
BIO
Born and raised with his love to music.
Nasser Asmar is one of remarkable Palestinian artists of music. Which combines the theoretical and practical aspects in teaching Arabic singing. Born in Palestine in 1984, Nasser received a Bachelor Degree in musicology from The Faculty of Arts at An-Najah National University (NNU) in Palestine, and an Masters Degree in Arabic Singing from The Higher Institute of Arab Music - Academy of Arts – in Arab Republic of Egypt. His works had been showcased in several concerts and on TV series through Egyptian drama.
Currently Nasser is a lecturer at An-Najah National University (NNU) Faculty of Arts, and he is working on a new project that will be the first of its kind in Palestine, which will contribute in presenting the Palestinian musical and singing culture in the best way.

2. Postgraduate Diploma in Arabic Singing in Arabic singing from The Higher Institute of Arab Music - Academy of Arts - Arab Republic of Egypt 2008
3. MA in Arabic singing from The Higher Institute of Arab Music - Academy of Arts - Arab Republic of Egypt 2010

2. Lille City Week for Heritage and Culture in France in 2005.
3. Participating in establishing the An-Najah University choir, singing and playing the lute and the flute in concerts and festivals organized by the University
4. Presenting a radio program on Sawt Al-Najah Radio in 2013-2014 that talks about famous Arab singers and making use of their artistic experiences.
5. Establishing the Palestine Oriental Band for Arab Music in Nablus, and it includes a large group of artists from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Music. The band performs regular monthly concerts dating back to the beautiful time, in order to increase artistic and cultural awareness of the community.

Motivation
Firstly, there are no specialists in Arabic singing in the Palestinian university
Secondly: My department at the university needs this major
Thirdly: This program intends to improve the advanced courses such as Playing the lute (al Oud music instrument) with singing.
