This course will provide students with knowledge about different types of gynecological disorders
focusing on menstrual disturbances, gynecological oncology, sexually transmitted disease and the
preventive measures. The student should be familiar with different certain uterine, ovarian, cervical, and vaginal anomalies and diseases. A deeper discussion of pre pregnancy and pregnancy at risk, violence, nutrition, health promotion, grief process and updated coverage of contraception,
complementary/alternative therapies will be covered. Pharmacologic pain management and systemic
drugs to promote pain relief during the nursing management of the woman in labor and her fetus will be investigated. Nursing care of women’s pre- and post-operative with appropriate counseling and referral if needed.
