Dietary Awareness Level Among Physical Education Majors at An-Najah National University and Sultan Qaboos University
The purpose of this study was to investigate dietary awareness level among physical education majors at An-Najah National University (ANU) and Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). Furthermore, to determine the effect of Students University, gender, academic level and accumulative average on dietary awareness level.
The sample was consisted from (207) student, (105) from (ANU) whom (102) from (SQU). The questionnaire contains (15) items of dietary awareness.
The results indicate that there was a low degree of dietary awareness level among physical education majors at (ANU) and (SQU), where the overall percentage of response amounted to (59%). Also, the results revealed that there were no significant differences in dietary awareness level Among physical education majors at (ANU) and (SQU) due to the students university, gender, academic level. While, the results revealed that there were significant differences in dietary awareness level due to accumulative average in favor of highest average .Also, the results of stepwise regression revealed the best five items in predicting total score of dietary awareness, where the percentage of explanation of these items was (59%).
Based on the study findings, the researchers recommend to reconstructing curricula which related to health, and conducting workshops for physical education majors in dietary awareness.
