Games Players in Palestine: A field Study in Positive Psychology

Positive Psychology is a modern science, which is interested in studying

the positive sides of personality. The present study aimed to employ thisscience in the field of sport sciences through identifying the level of Positive

Personality Index (PPI) among the higher level of collective games players

in Palestine. Furthermore, to determine the differences in (PPI) according to

the game, playing experience and international participation variables. Toachieve these purposes the study was conducted on a sample of (224) layersof soccer, volleyball basketball, and handball in Palestine, and a(15) items

(PPI) applied.

The study indicated that the total level of (PPI) among players was high.

Also, the results revealed significant differences in level of (PPI) among

the higher level of collective games players in Palestine due to the game

in favor of volleyball players, and to the international participation in favor

of participant, while there were no significant differences due to playing

experience variable.

Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommended to apply

positive psychology in the field of sport sciences, and in the psychological

preparation of the players as a coping strategies to the competition stressors,

and more attention should be given by the workers in the field of sports

authors for publication in Sport Positive Psychology.
