Advantages and Determinants of Applying Human Resource Accounting In Jordanian Public Shareholding Companies The study aimed to explore the advantages and determinants of applying human resource accounting (HRA) systems in Jordanian public listed companies,. In addition, the study discussed the accounting principles that govern these systems when applying them in those companies. To achieve its objectives, the study employed a questionnaire that was conducted on sample of three groups (financial managers, internal auditors and external auditors) which consist of 60 companies randomly selected from Jordanian public shareholding companies. 146 questionnaires were distributed and there was an 88% response rate. The main findings of the study were that the three groups of respondents agreed on the advantages of applying human resource accounting in Jordanian public companies while there was no agreement among the groups regarding the accounting treatment to be used in their measurement and disclosure aspects and regarding the determinants of applying them. The researchers recommended companies to apply human resource accounting systems, even if voluntarily, given the advantages of these systems. They also recommended that companies to work on reducing the determinants facing the application of these systems through using better accounting methods of capitalization which can be developed by employing more actuarial specialists to help in applying some related mathematical models suggested by the researchers. Key-Terms: Human resource accounting, Human resource accounting systems (HRA), Jordanian public shareholding companies.
