This research, entitled "The Rule on Obliging the Offender to Pay Some Kind of 'Deyya' (a Retribution) in Islamic Fiqh", came in three chapters, an introduction and a conclusion.

The researcher dealt with the concept of the "Deyya" among Islamic jurists. A Deyya is money to be paid in retribution for the crime committed against the loss of a person's life or other parts of the body. It is permissible to pay it in three types: camels, gold and silver, and the general basis is to give the culprit the freedom to choose what s/he prefers out of the mentioned three types. In the present time, people differ as to the legality of obliging the offender in some way because of the large difference in the value of its origin. The most likely procedure is to oblige the culprit to pay the value in gold, for the stability of its purchasing power.
