Discount of the costs off the money that had to be paid as Zakah

Abstract: The study tries to answer the question: has the Zakah to be paid for the wealth netto، or for the whole wealth? We will do that in the light of the legislation's purposes at this religious duty، in order to distinguish the obligatory right from the netto or the whole wealth، and the items included within the Zakah money، plants and fruits، commerce، labour gain، invested money، animal wealth، permanent origins and industrial production.

Each kind of these includes other types، and this study is designed to give answers for the important questions frequently asked by people: has the Zakah to be paid for the wealth netto? Or is it partially or completely legally allowed to reduce the costs off the money that has to be paid for as Zakah? Besides the study tries to define the legal judgment of this discount، and gives some actual explanatory implementations، providing the existence of all the other relevant terms at the Zakah money.

The study came to the conclusion that the legislator pointed that the Zakah had to be paid by the rich people rather than those in debt، and that the statements of Atta' Ben Abi-Rabah and Abu-Bakr Ben Al-Arabi، accepted by the majority، saying that the costs of the productive projects، the personal expenses and the debts، had to be reduced، and the Zakah is to be paid for the income netto، but the costs of agricultural projects irrigation cannot be reduced، as the legislator had recognized them at the obligatory right from (10%) to (5%)، and the purchase costs of the project which last for several agricultural periods had not to be reduced، and the long term debts are not reduced، as the current payment only can be reduced. The costs belong to some other person rather than that who has to pay the Zakah، and the netto only can be paid for as Zakah، Maymoun ben Mahran، this theme، besides to the above-mentioned Atta' theme، with the recognition of what can or cannot be reduced from the costs.
