Abstract: This study was aimed at investigating the impact of using flow chart teaching method on immediate and long –term scientific achievement and achievement motive, self-concept and test anxiety of(9th) grade students in Phyics(Electricity) governmental schools in Nablus governorate.
To answer the questions of the study and test its hypotheses, the researcher conducted this study on a sample consists of (164) males and females in public school in Nablus. The students of the study were distributed into four sections. Two section, one for males and one for females, were chosen randomly and these two section represented the experimental section, the two section were taught by using flowchart method, where as the other two section taught according to traditional method.
The following tools were applied on the study sample: Pre-knowledge test, achievement test, achievement motive scale, Self-concept scale, and test anxiety scale. Data was analyzed by using Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used as well as Hotelling to examine the impact of treatment on the dependent variables, and t-test was applied on both groups to measure the differences between the pre-and-post-tests (achievements test achievement motive scale, self-concept scale and test anxiety scale).
The study hypothesis findings introduce as the following: There were statistical significant differences between each of the following: scientific achievement, achievement motive, self concept and test anxiety of the students means towards physics, experimental and control group, in favor of experimental. There were no statistical significant differences between each of the following: scientific achievement, achievement motive, self–concept and test anxiety of the students means towards physics due to time. There were statistical significant differences between each of the following: scientific achievement, achievement motive, self concept and test anxiety means of the students means towards physics, due to gender, in favor of female.
In accordance with the findings of this study it was recommended to encourage teachers adapting the flowchart method for its effectiveness, and calls the researchers to conduct farther studies which concerning with teaching method. flowcharts
