The relationship between parenting style and achieving of psychological identity be the adolescents: Governorate by Rasmiyah Hannoun

            The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between parenting styles and the achieving of psychological identity be the adolescents. The sample of the study consisted of (78) male and  female student chosen randomly. To achieve this aim the researcher administrated two instrument, the first to explore the parenting styles consisting of (4) items distributed into two filds, each contains four domains. The second is to explore the adolescents achievement of his psychological Identity. It consists of (60) items distributed into tow domains. The findings of the study showed that the dominant parenting style is the democratic style and the dominant psychological identity status among adolescents is achieving this identity. Moreover, the finding showed that there is a positive significant relation between the democratic style and achieving the psychological identity and there is a positive relation between Authoritarian parenting style and protection as well as neglecting from one hand and the closed identity as well as disordered identity. There is a negative relation between acceptance and the closed as well as disordered identity. And there is a positive relation between abandoned style and closed psychological identity.
