This research aims at discussing the Islamic point of view on adopting women quota in elections. The study presents the issue of women quota from an Islamic point of view depending on the opinions of contemporary Islamic scholars and major authorities along with Islamic texts that support women participation in governments and being in high positions. The discussion will result in a clear understanding of their views regarding women quota.
The study concludes that woman quota is not prohibited in Islam as it benefits both women and society. In addition, no text was found in the Islamic tradition to reject women quota. The study assures that the rejection of the quota is not due to the quota itself; it is due to the rejection of women participation in public affairs in general.
