Thisstudyexaminesthecorrelationamonganumberofpersonalandenvironmentalvariablesthatcanberelatedto decrease in depression.These are:religiosity,socialsupport,and self-contro1.The participants in the study consistedof280ArabM uslimsstudentsfrom teachertraining collegesinIsrae1.Thefindingsindicatethatallthe resourcesthatwere examined related to decrease in depression,in otherwords,significantnegativecorrelations werefoundbetweenthelevelofreligiosity,socialsupport,and self-controlontheonehand,andthelevelof depressionontheother.Thesefindingsareconsistentwiththoseofotherstudiesconductedelsewhereintheworld ondifferentpopulations(ChristianandJewish,aswellasMuslim).Thefindingswerediscussedinaccordancewith anumberofdif_ferenttheories
