The aim of this study was to investigate the removal of Ni(II) using synthesized polysiloxane modified with ortho, meta and
para nitrophenyl. The scope of the work included batch equilibrium, adsorption isotherm studies and kinetic studies at varying
pH (2-12), contact time, sorbent dosages (5-10 mg) and initial metal ion concentration (5-50 mg/L). The development of batch
kinetic model and determination of order, desorption studies were investigated. The maximum removal of Ni(II) is found to be
89.6 % at pH 8, The best removal was of 94% at temperature = 10 oC. The removal of nickel followed Langmuir model
adsorption and was pseudo second order. The capacity of the first and second regenerated polymer for removal of nickel
showed 84.3 and 82.9 % for the second and third generation respectively
