Innovations in stent technology and technological advances in endoscopic techniques have led to rapid expansion of their use in the field of gastrointestinal diseases. The application of stents in the GI tract has evolved to include a vast spectrum of malignant and benign pathologies and anatomical locations. In this report we discuss the latest developments in this field and present our experience in its use in its different clinical applications.
