This paper handles the aspects that concern teaching the coverage of war and conflicts in media schools at Palestinian universities. Upon studying them, we shall be able to diagnose the controversial relationship between the ethical profession of journalism-taught to journalism students- and the ethical profession faced after graduation.

The paper shall be divided into two main aspects: the first considers what the journalism courses that cover war and conflicts are, the picture of the other (foe) in the media, and the professional standards that the journalism student learns. As for the second aspect, it evaluates what the journalist studied at the university regarding the theoretical ethics and standards in the light of the reality he faces, usually contradicting what he has had learned.
