Pragmatics is one of the problematic issues in transltion. Any misunderstanding of a pragmatic issue may result in a misunderstanding of the meaning and so an inaccurate translation. This research deals with such an issue by carrying out a comparison between three translation of surat "Yusf". Its novility lies in that it deals with three translators from three different religions. The point of the study is to show cases where the translators failed to grasp the pragmatic meaning of the verses in the surah.
