In order for an Operating System (OS) service to be distributable across a network of heterogeneous SoCs, certain properties have to be fulfilled. Such properties include supporting many hardware architectures, smart resource optimization, and the ability to change its configuration to suit the non-constant SoC demands and requirements. In this paper, some of the problems that an OS service faces in a distributed heterogeneous system of SoCs are shown. An OS service design model which enables solving such problems is discussed, and a linear running time algorithm which works with this model is given.
