This research deals with one aspect of al-(Khulu') "divorce at the instance of the wife who has the right
to end undesired marriage when she is unwilling, or unable to go on with her marriage". This aspect is the
amount of compensation of al-Khulu' that is paid in return by the wife to her husband, on the basis of
religious scripts, scholars' views and according to its practice in "Personal Law".
This research calls for reconsidering the prevailing stand that takes away this right from women, by
asking her to pay more than the dower (al-Mahr).
