Construction sites, especially in third world countries, often constitute a source of risk to workers’ health and safety. Accidents on construction sites can be greatly reduced or prevented if safety codes and regulations are honored.
This study aimed at investigating the extent to which such codes are implemented on construction sites in Nablus. The findings of the study show while safety measures are usually taken with heavy machinery (e.g. cranes, excavators and tools), there is a serious lack of health facilities and of equipment needed for personal safety.
