Joking divorce in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah

:Abstract
Scholars have disagreed over confirmation of divorce in the case of a man uttering divorce amusingly. The majority of schools (Jumhour Al- Ulama) believe it's confirmed; others believe it is not. This study shows that what is supported by evidence and conforms to laws (Shari'ah) intent and legislator's wisdom is the second opinion, i.e. divorce is not confirmed and is reliable, though the husband is urged to avoid uttering this divorce in deference to his wife's feelings and sustaining of intimacy.
