ABET accreditation plays a vital role in ensuring the quality, relevance, and global recognition of engineering and technology programs. However, institutions continue to face challenges in adapting to evolving accreditation criteria, aligning learning outcomes with industry needs, and maintaining effective continuous improvement processes. Differences in assessment approaches across programs, particularly the balance between direct and indirect assessment, add to the complexity. While indirect methods such as surveys and qualitative evaluations provide valuable insight, they also pose challenges in ensuring reliability and consistency.

This presentation examines the critical issues shaping ABET accreditation at ANNU, including outcome assessment, stakeholder engagement, documentation, and curriculum alignment amid ongoing updates to accreditation standards. It further highlights innovative and practical strategies, such as digital assessment tools, integrated evaluation systems, and enhanced indirect assessment frameworks, that improve efficiency and support a culture of evidence-based quality assurance. The study concludes with recommendations to help institutions strengthen accreditation readiness and long-term program sustainability.
