This study aimed to identify the impact of the Israeli political environment on the Israeli press's coverage of the war on Gaza. It employed a descriptive-analytical approach, analyzing the qualitative content of a purposive sample of media materials published on the websites of Yediot Aharonot, The Jerusalem Post, and Haaretz. The study concluded that the media is subject to the authority of the discourse controlled by the government and the military, as well as the direct military censorship imposed by these entities on security and political issues, which the Israeli media readily accepts. The study also found that the Israeli media aligns itself with the wave of extremism, incitement, and racism adopted by the government and sweeping through Israeli society against Palestinians, with the exception of Haaretz, which adopted an opposing stance. Furthermore, the Israeli media is complicit in what it calls "genocide" by publishing related news as if it were commonplace. Regarding the external political environment, the media aligned itself with Trump's policies supporting Israeli settlement expansion and ignored opposing viewpoints, in order to maintain strong relations with the Trump administration. The study found that the Israeli media echoed the government's statements of condemnation and denunciation regarding the global protests against the genocide in Gaza, and against the recognition of the Palestinian state by governments allied with the occupation.
