This study deals with the definition of the tools for understanding the hadith in the light of its context . In this study, the researcher used specific meanings of the context of all kinds that correspond to the topic of the research; He meant by the specific context: the sum of the tools that indicate the comprehension of its meaning with all its words, and he mentioned among them: looking at the context in its entirety, collecting the narrations of one hadith, and knowing the reason for the occurrence of the hadith . By the general context, he meant: the set of tools that indicate an understanding of the hadith - which is the subject of consideration - from outside its words. Among them, he mentioned seeking help from two things: the verses of the Noble Qur’an and the texts of the Prophet’s Sunnah, and that they are in common with the hadith in its objective context. The researcher has taken care of the tools for understanding hadith common between the private and public contexts, and mentioned among them the consideration of: the Arabic language, the sound mind, and the science of jurisprudence . The researcher reinforces his presentation of these tools and their explanation with the words of the scholars who have warned of the necessity of their availability in understanding the prophetic texts. The research deals with practical examples from the Prophetic hadiths that show the flaw in understanding due to the failure to consider or neglect these important tools of understanding . Among the most important findings of the study: the use of the tools of understanding helps to reach the correct meaning of the hadith of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Classifying these tools according to the types of context regulates the mind of the beholder in the texts of the Prophetic Sunnah . Keywords: tools, Understanding the hadith, context
