Abstract:
This study aimed at identifying the pattern of brain dominance prevailing among tenth grade students in public schools in
Palestine. It utilized the descriptive approach, and its sample, which was selected through the stratified random method,
consisted of (1941) male and female students. The study tool was used, which is the Daine Connill's brain dominance scale.
The study’s results showed that the left pattern is the prevailing pattern of brain dominance among tenth graders in public
schools with a rate of (60.8%), followed by the integrated pattern with a rate of (27%), and the right pattern came in the last
place with a rate of (12.2%). The )Chi square( results showed that the differences between the distribution of frequencies
between the brain dominance patterns were statistically significant, and these differences were in favor of the left brain
dominance pattern.
The study recommends that inclusion of topics of brain dominance and brain-based learning in the preparation and
rehabilitation programs for teachers, and preparing the new teacher. and the need for the teacher to know the prevailing
patterns of brain dominance among his students as a first step in the process of planning the teaching process.
