This talk will present the results of a study that explored contact lens care
compliance, noncompliance reasons, bacterial contamination rates, and associated
behaviors among university students in Palestine. A total of 133 habitual soft
contact lens wearers participated, providing demographic and lens care behavior
data through face-to-face interviews. High, moderate, and low levels of compliance
were identified. Bacterial contamination testing was conducted on a sample of
participants' storage cases. Results reveal an average compliance rate of 76.8%,
with variations observed across different care behaviors. Gram-positive and gram-
negative bacteria were detected in 19.55% of cases, with poor hygiene practices
contributing to contamination. Findings underscore the need for patient education
on proper lens care practices to mitigate the risk of complications
