Teaching Performance of Teachers and its Relationship with Social and Emotional Learning Skills from the Secondary School Students’

The current study aimed to identify the level of teaching performance among teachers in light of social-emotional learning (SEL) skills, as well as the level of possession of SEL skills among high school students. Additionally, the study sought to investigate the relationship between teachers' teaching performance and students' social-emotional learning skills. The researchers employed a descriptive correlational methodology, the study population consists of all high school students under the supervision of the Education Directorate in Nablus. A random sample of 300 students was selected, and a questionnaire comprising (59(items was developed, distributed across two axes: the axis of teachers' teaching performance (31 items) and the axis of SEL skills (28 items. (The study results revealed that the level of teaching performance among teachers, as perceived by their students, was average, while the students' level of possession of SEL skills, as perceived by themselves, was high. Furthermore, a positive correlation was found between teachers' teaching performance and students' possession of social-emotional learning skills. Based on the study findings, the researchers recommended several interventions, including providing training for teachers on SEL competencies and engaging them in workshops and seminars on effective teaching methods to foster emotional learning skills.
