The study aimed to examine the differential items function of the scientific research scale at Al-Ahliyya Amman University using the general Mantel-Hansel method by sex, college and academic rank.The researcher used the descriptive survey method .The study population consisted of all faculty members for the academic year (2017\2018) the study population was (257) members .The study sample consisted of (122) members, (82) males and (40) females were randomly chosen. The study instrument consisted of (30) items using the Likert pentagonal scale. The apparent and constructed validity was verified, where the correlation coefficients ranged. Between the item and the total score on the scale between (0.264 - 0.821) and all statistically significant at the level of significance (0.01) and (0.05), and the value of the coefficient of stability was (0.929).

The results were found to verified unidimesionaly in the scale, also the items scale dose not  showing differential performance according to gender variable, while it found two items according to the academic grade variable, item (14) and was in favor of faculty members of the rank of assistant professor, and (29) The faculty members of the rank of professor and associate professor, as well as the presence that item (13) was not able to calculate the statistical (GMH), while found the  two items show final differential performance depending on the variable branch of the college, namely, items (25, 26) and for the benefit of faculty members from Scientific faculties branch, and the results of the existence of statistical differences For items with differential item function in the indicators of the validity of the internal construction.
