ABCTRACT

This research, "The Impact of Knowledge and Scientific Progress on Sustainable Development from an Islamic Perspective", is an attempt to shed light on an important issue, as it plays a key role in economic progress and activity.

The first chapter of the research examined the concept of knowledge and demonstrated its relevance. In the second chapter, the research showed the nature of the existing knowledge of economy in Islamic countries, applications of reality, and images that relate to the impact of science and technology on sustainable development. In the final and last chapter, the researcher was interested in revealing the strategy required to increase the components of knowledge and scientific progress.

The research concluded that there is a significant gap between the level of sustainable development and knowledge advancement in the civilized world and among Islamic countries, as well as poor interest in the field of scientific progress; because of poor infrastructure, human resource migration, and poor interests in scientific development and progress.

To address this, the countries of the Islamic world must accord the utmost importance to education at all stages, strengthen scientific research and development, stimulate innovation, work on the development of education and technological methods, keep abreast of ongoing developments, and enable members of the Muslim community to catch up with all developments in the methods and components of modern knowledge.
