Abstract
The science of Faces and Isotopes is one of the explanatory Qur’anic sciences that was heavily researched by ancient linguists and Muslims who devoted many books to it and this has necessitated more research and work to clarify and understand it. Arabic lexical items sometimes change in meaning or denotations based on their context. The word /qarana/ is one of these lexical items, hence the researcher was prompted to investigate the word and its meanings based on language books and dictionaries
