This study aims at investigating a collection of Qur’anic texts which deal with repentance from ill-gotten money by examining such verses, analyzing them, inducing their rules along with choosing the quantity by which the relation between the general repentance and the specific repentance, i.e.  is shown.

This will not be achieved unless we conduct a study which combines the interpretation approach with the jurisprudence one. Thus, the subjects of the study explain the concepts of repentance and ill-gotten money (haram money), and it talks about the verses of repentance from ill-gotten money and their connotations highlighting the meanings, the relation, the rhetorical aspects which were included, and the jurisprudential rules which are connected with such verses.

Islamic Shari’a does not picture the repentance concept as a concept which is born from intellects or mere examining of questions; rather, it frames its features and goals depending on what can be induced and inferred such as examining the rules and inferring the aims of such rules.

Some vital results of the study are: the wages which one gets from working in an illegal place are lawful if the worker repents. The inherited ill-gotten money must be rejected if the heir knows about this; it is also allowed to pay the money as charity; if it is difficult to pay it as charity, it can be given to the ruler to be spend on general affairs and on the poor and needy.
