Abstract. The use of big data and artificial intelligence (AI) in the accounting and finance industry is a rapidly growing trend that has the potential to revolu-tionize the way accounting and finance professionals conduct their work. This study aims to explore the opportunities and challenges that big data and AI pre-sent for the accounting and finance professions. This research examines the cur-rent state of big data and AI in the accounting and finance industries, the potential benefits and risks associated with their implementation, and the challenges that need to be overcome in order to fully realize their potential. This concept paper includes an analysis of existing research on big data and AI in accounting and finance, including articles, reports, and studies from professional sources. The findings of this study are of interest to accounting and finance professionals, academics, and researchers, as well as policymakers and other stakeholders who are interested in understanding the implications of big data and AI for the accounting and finance industry.
