The Level of Mathematical Knowledge of Mathematics Teachers for the First four Grades in Nablus Governorate

The study aimed to identify the level of mathematical knowledge of mathematics teachers for the first four grades in Nablus governorate, and its relationship to gender variables, years of experience, academic qualification and specialization. To achieve this, the researcher used the analytical descriptive method through applying the mathematical knowledge test for mathematics teachers for the first four grades in Nablus governorate. The sample of the study consisted of (92) mathematics teachers for the first four grades in Nablus governorate, who were chosen randomly. The results of the study showed that an acceptable percentage in the level of mathematical knowledge of mathematics teachers for the first four grades in Nablus governorate, and the results showed no differences between the averages of teachers' responses to the mathematical knowledge test in the gender variable, years of experience, and academic qualification in all fields, while there are differences in Specialization variable in the field of numbers, fractions, operations on them, measurement, geometry, and the grand total in favor of the natural sciences. The study recommended holding training courses for first-stage teachers on acquiring mathematical knowledge and how to deal with it, conducting more studies and research to measure the level of mathematical knowledge of mathematics teachers, and working on recruiting teachers with natural specialties to teach mathematics.
