Abstract:
Background: Dry eye disease is one of the most common diseases in ophthalmic world, characterized by eye irritation, foreign body sensation, photophobia, stinging and blurs vision. A cross sectional study was used to measure the quality of life for dry eye participants.. Methods: 481 students’ between17-24 years were selected to fill the Ocular Surface Disease Index questionnaire, then they were asked to fill Visual Function Questionnaire to know how dry eye disease affect their quality of life. Results: the prevalence of dry eye in Palestine was 69.4. Also, it revealed that a significant correlation was found between dry eye and quality of life, which has an impact on students’ daily life activity. Conclusion: Our results have shown that quality of life is inversely proportion with severity of dry eye, indicating that Dry eye affect person’s daily life activities such as reading, driving, and many other activities
