The aim of this study was to investigate the degree that the General Secondary High School Exams in Arabic language consider the level of mental processes according to Darwazeh’s Learning Taxonomy. To accomplish this aim, the last five academic years (2015-2019) exams were taken as an intentional sample. The sample consisted of (548) main and sub-questions. The questions were analysed according to its frequencies, percentages in measuring the mental processes, and their types whether they were essay or objective questions. By using the descriptive and analytic statistics, the results revealed that the percentage of questions which measured the low levels of mental processes, such as remember specific and general information and comprehension was higher (51.5%) than the percentage of questions which measured the high levels of mental processes, such as application, evaluation and creativity (33.1%), or the medium ones, such as analysis and synthesizing (15.5%). The results also revealed that the percentage of essay questions was higher (79.4%) than the objectives ones (20.6%). However, the study lake of any question measured organization or meta-cognitive levels. Based on these results, the two researchers recommend other researchers to use other topics and analyse their questions according to Darwazeh’s Learning Taxonomy.
