The study examined the implications of the concept of Political Confessionalism, along with the reasons and factors behind its emergence in the Arab world, in the light of the religious and ethnic diversity as well as the denominations of the Arab community. The study relied on the descriptive analytical method and the historical approach. The study traced Confessionalism’s origin and development in the Arab community. In addition, it explored its specificity in the Arab World and the role of the Arabic political systems in its promotion. The study concluded that the transfer of sectarianism from the communities to the political arena represented one of the factors behind the political and ideological conflict in the Arabic societies. Furthermore, diversity did not led to the fusion of the society’s components within the state. This reinforced the state's dominance and exploitation of that diversity. In addition, sub-identities emerged within the state’s collapse and failure, leading to the prevalence of these sub-identities and Confessionalism. This led to the disturbance of the social structure and raised prejudice among the diverse communities in the Arab World. Key words: Sectarianism, Political Confessionalism, Sub-Identities, Social Reality, Arab World.
