Employing Facebook Network in Promoting Health Awareness Regarding Coronavirus Prevention: The Public Relations Department of the Palestinian Ministry of Health as a Model

The study aimed to know the extent to which the Public Relations Unit in the Palestinian Ministry of Health employs (PMOH) Facebook in promoting health awareness to prevent the emerging corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic. We adopted the descriptive analytical approach, and the in-depth interview tool, in addition to distributing an electronic questionnaire to the study sample from the followers of the PMOH Facebook page.

Results: The Public Relations Unit at the Ministry of Health utilized its Facebook page to enhance public awareness of the prevention of Coronavirus in an effective manner and meeting the needs of the public.

We emphasize the need to focus on the Facebook network as a guide and educational tool about Corona virus vaccines, as the PMOH Facebook page has a great follower base by the Palestinian public, and the need to pay attention to interacting with the public through the Facebook page and respond to their inquiries and questions directly and regularly; To provide the audience with the information and instructions they may need, and to increase the number of followers.
