Many linguistic ambiguities are first resulting from the abusive use of the terms citizenship, secularism, human rights and democracy. Furthermore, the different political, religious, and intellectual classes try to put these concepts in the Arabic and Islamic contexts, in order to serve their own interests. The paper also provides some terms that could go beyond the problematic use of the current concepts and terms, with a focus on the main objectives of citizenship: equality and equity for all in front of law
